Why we love beautiful things

But if every designer understood more about the mathematics of attraction, the mechanics of affection, all design — from houses to cellphones to offices and cars — could both look good and be good for you.

Defining Quality

Quality, he tells me, is when every part of an experience—from the product to the UI, from the packaging to the retail experience—has been crafted to the highest details. He considers good quality and good design to be one in the same.

24 Weeks of Windows Phone Design (PDF)

A good friend of mine has made his 24 week of Windows Phone design blog series available as an eBook format for easy consumption. Perfect for offline access. Provides great insights into what makes a great Windows Phone experience and also works you through a structured design process.

Designing apps for Windows Phone (or whatever)

The Windows Phone team has published an excellent resource outlining the design process that most designers including myself go through.  This structured process is not tied to just mobile development. It can be applied across mediums. If you're new to designing apps, sticking to a rigid process is an excellent way to ensure you're thinking through all of it. Bless their kind hearts. They're also giving away templates you can apply to each stage.

— E.F. Schumacher

I'm going to start things off with this. I'll be looking for this touch everywhere. Thanks for checking out release number two of my site.
